Growing...

This is at almost 14 weeks. Don't you love the pillow in the middle of the floor. I cropped the picture earlier, but it didn't save and I didn't feel like messing with it again!

Sixteen weeks-this was taken this past friday night. I think it makes me look a little bigger than I am because of the angle and the way I'm holding back my sweater. I also like the plant growing out of my head. Ha.At least we took a picture this week. Right?

We've had such a nice weekend. It seems like we've done alot of baby stuff over the past few days. Friday after work I went to visit a daycare near our house that we are considering for the baby.  I was kind of sad about going, but I had a really good experience . All the babies were happy and clean, the baby teacher was super nice, and it would be so convenient for us.That night, we went to a catfish restaurant that's pretty far out in the country. It reminded me of being in Arkansas and was really yummy.  After that we went to Babys R Us and looked around. It was the first time I've been in there since I've been pregnant.  It's hard to know what you actually need when there is soooo such to choose from.  Baby stuff is expensive!  Yesterday we stopped by Motherhood in the mall and I bought a few things. I bought most of the clothes I'll need at a consignment sale, but I needed some more pants/capris for work.  Things are getting tight and I'm wearing the belly band nearly every day. Last night I went to a lingerie shower for a friend at work and Marcus went out with some friends.  We went to church and I had a nice 2-hour nap this afternoon and tonight we have community groups with our class from church.

The past few weeks...

Not alot to post, but everything is going well with baby.  I got to hear its' heartbeat a couple of weeks ago. That made everything seem so real and exciting.  Tomorrow I will be 15 weeks and the baby will be the size of an orange this week. I love knowing how big it is each week.  I've been feeling good-a little hungrier, but still tired.  I can still wear all of my own clothes, but I did wear my belly band out to dinner on friday night. I had a big lunch that day and wanted to have room for dinner too! We'll find out on May 28 if it's a boy or a girl. I can't wait to start shopping and getting the nursery ready!!!

We're having a baby!!!

I haven't posted on here in forever. One reason is all that I have to write about is baby stuff and I couldn't tell! We've been waiting for Easter so we could share the news with our parents in person.  For Easter, Marcus removed the yolks from eggs and we decorated them and put ultrasound pictures inside for our parents.  I am 11 weeks along and the due date is October 25.  I have been feeling pretty good, just nauseous sometimes. It has been so much fun telling our friends and coworkers with week.  We are really excited!

This is after church on Easter. Marcus told our John Mark that the Great Pumpkin is going to bring him a cousin.

I got flowers and cards from Marcus and the baby for our anniversary in March. I was feeling nauseous that weekend and didn't want to spend alot of money if I wasn't hungry, so we went to Pei Wei. Tonight we are going to the Melting Pot to make up for it. : )

Christmas (a couple weeks later)

Marcus has gone to Dallas for a Cowboys game and left me all alone. So far my day has consisted of donating blood, going to Target, watching some E!, and going to the library. Exciting stuff-I know.  I thought this might be a good time to update the old blog.

 We had a nice Christmas.  I really enjoyed decorating our house. It was the first Christmas that we haven't lived in an apartment.  We left Tulsa just a few hours before the blizzard started on Christmas Eve.  Nothing especially exciting happened in Arkansas, but Marcus and I are always so glad to see both of our families and just hang out at their houses.  We babysat my parents' dog Buckaroo while they went to Kentucky on Christmas Day and our nephews enjoyed playing with him. He ended up in nearly all of our Christmas pictures.

Our New Year's was probably the most uneventful one I've ever had. None of our friends were getting together so we just went out to dinner and were asleep by 10:30. That's what happens when you get old and all your friends have kids I guess.

Marcus recently accepted a new job with his company. It's still in Tulsa, but just a couple of miles from where he works now and gives him better potential for getting promoted in the future. This means we should be here for at least another year or so. We've renewed the lease on our house and it's nice to know we won't have to worry about moving again too soon.

Christmas Sweater Party

We had a Christmas sweater party with our class from church last night. It was sooo much fun. We ate lots of great appetizers and desserts and gave out prizes for a few different categories. I ended up buying a Christmas dress a Goodwill (which is very unflattering) and Marcus wore what I'm pretty sure is a womens sweater that he found on the men's rack at another thrift store. We're looking forward to heading to Arkansas later this week.

We've finally been hanging up more things around the house. I thought I'd share.

Marcus painted these canvases. They are hanging above our couch. He is way more crafty than I am!

I had some pictures from Mexico and Jamaica blown up in black and white. I was happy with how they turned out.

my first razorback game

Yesterday Marcus and I drove over to Fayetteville with another couple from church, Scott and Ashley, for the Arkansas/South Carolina game. It was so much fun and the weather was perfect. The boys had second row seats and Ashley and I sat up higher, but still had a good view. After the game we went to one of the best sushi places I have ever been to. Things were great until we hit a deer on the way home. We were in Ashley's Jeep and it was pretty damaged and undriveable. We were stuck in Inola, OK (middle of nowhere) for an hour or two. Thankfully, another friend came to pick us all up.
P.S. When it comes to basketball, Kentucky is still my favorite team!
